DANVILLE, Ky. (April 18, 2015) – After dropping the opening game 3-2, the Sewanee baseball team rolled over Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Centre, 14-3, to split a doubleheader at Gary Wright Field.

In the opener, Sewanee took a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth when Tony Dykes doubled in Jackson Cooper and Drew Mancuso.

Centre rallied back with runs in the bottom of the seventh and eighth. In fact, with one out in the eighth, Trey Litsey hit a game-winning triple that scored Charlie Grigsby from second.

Ryan Tillman took the loss for Sewanee despite striking out three and allowing only five hits. Reliever Alex Edwards earned the win in relief for the Colonels while Matt Cox closed the door with a save in the ninth after striking out two.

In game two, Sewanee's bats came alive. The Tigers scored in every inning except the first and sixth. In total, Sewanee pounded five Centre pitchers for 15 hits.

Individually, Cooper led the offense with a 3-for-5 performance with two runs and four RBI. Derek Hullings also played well with three hits, three runs scored, and one RBI. Overall, nine Tigers had hits with seven players finishing with an RBI.

On the mound, Addison Jones earned the win after tossing 2.2 innings of scoreless relief. Jimmy Robbins and Harrison Lee also pitched well allowing no runs over the final inning.

Centre starter Trevor Brewer was charged with the loss after giving up eight runs (all earned) in 4.0 innings.
