Berry completes sweep of Sewanee with a 5-1 win

ROME, Ga. (March 15, 2015) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Berry completed a three-game sweep of the Sewanee baseball team, Sunday, with a 5-1 win at William R. Bowdoin Stadium.

The Tigers are now 4-7 overall and 2-7 in SAA action. Berry improved to 11-9 overall and 4-2 in league play.

Sewanee starter Ryan Tillman was charged with the loss after allowing five runs, only three earned, on seven hits.

Berry touched up Tillman for runs in the bottom of the third, fourth, fifth, and eight innings.

Sewanee got on the board in the top of the eighth, when Tyler Minkkinen drove in Jack Whaley with a single.

Overall, Minkkinen and Drew Mancuso led Sewanee with two hits each.

Alfred Francis and Ben Jernigan, who each had two hits, led Berry at the plate.

Sewanee will return to action Monday against Alfred State in Winter Haven, Fla.
