Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 24, 2015) – Three goals in each half led Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes to an impressive 6-1 win over the Sewanee field hockey team, Saturday, at Mason Field.
The Lynx rolled early with first-half goals by Julie Hertzman, Evy Royther, and Georgie Wilkins. Sewanee got its long goal when Hannah Tompkins scored off a pass from Emma Horgan in the 16th minute.
Rhodes extended its lead the final 35 minutes when Mary Rose Hazel, Royther, and Kennedy Brislin all scored.
Overall, Rhodes had fewer shots than the first time they played the Tigers this season. However, the Lynx still outshot Sewanee 15-5.
Individually, Tompkins led Sewanee with two shots. Horgan, Catherine Estes, and Sarah Barry each had one attempt.
Sewanee will close out its regular season with an 11:00 a.m. match against Newberry, October 31st.
