Centre tops Sewanee with a goal in each half

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2015) – A goal in each half led Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Centre to a 2-0 win over the Sewanee field hockey team, Saturday, at Puett Field.

The Colonels got their first goal late in the first half as Julie Gates capped off a great week with a shot from Kathryn Hardesty.

The score remained in favor of Centre at 1-0 until the 54th minute. Hayley Barker ripped in a shot which pushed the Colonels in front 2-0.

Overall, Centre outshot the Tigers 12-4. That included a 5-1 advantage in the second half.

The Tigers return to action with an 11:00 a.m. match next Saturday at Rhodes.
