BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Jan. 18, 2015) – Led by Brian Glatt, David Evans, Jean Murray, and Courtney Moore, the Sewanee men and women's swimming and diving teams continued to their march toward the upcoming Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships, Saturday, against rival Birmingham-Southern and NCAA Division II Scholarship program West Florida.
In the men's one-meter diving event, Moore finished first with a final score of 175.70 points. Teammate Evans then won the men's three-meter dive with 172.75 points. Then in the men's 100-free Glatt earned a victory with a time of 48.33 seconds.
Glatt also finished third in the men's 200 free with a mark of 1:47.75. Murray had the Tigers' lone women's win in the 500 free. Murray touched the wall in 5:19.95.
Peter McCarthy also swam well in the men's 1650 free. McCarthy finished with a time of 18:14.08. After the long free by McCarthy, Will Ralston finished second in the quick 50 free with a time of 22.65 seconds.
Sophomore Mac McNally also had a top-three finish with a third place performance in the 400 IM (4:26.24).
On the women's side, Erin Neil earned the Tigers' second top-three finish. The Alabama native finished third in the 100 fly just behind Madeline Pitt (UWF) and Katie Kassis (BSC) with a time of 1:03.48. Edward Dennis then took third in the same event for the men with a time of 56.16 seconds.
From there, Sewanee kept peforming well. Carolyn Rice finished third in the 100 free (58.60) while Caty Hueske added a second place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:03.21). Finally, Jackson Cromer added a third place finish in the men's 100 backstroke (56.14).

Sewanee returns to action against top-ranked Emory on January 31. That dual meet is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. inside the Fowler Center.
