Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 26, 2014) – The Sewanee baseball team ended its season with a tough 6-3 loss to Millsaps during second day action of Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Baseball Tournament, Saturday.
After neither team plated a run through the first four innings, Ben Clune opened with a single in the top of the fifth. Three batters later, Jack Whaley singled in Clune with a line drive through the left side.
Then with two outs, Zack Sutton singled in Whaley and Jackson Cooper.
The Majors would add a run in the bottom of the inning off an Andrew Rafferty single.
The score would remain in favor of Sewanee until the bottom of the sixth. With two outs Millsaps scored two runs on a throwing error by the Tigers.
The Majors would then add three late insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Freshman Tony Dykes led the Tigers with two hits while Sutton added a hit, run scored, and two RBI.
Tiger starter Charles Warren was charged with loss despite allowing only one earned run (five unearned) while striking out three in 6.2 innings of work.
