Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 22, 2014) – A season-high 71 shots helped the Sewanee men's lacrosse team to a 23-1 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) win over Oglethorpe Saturday at Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium.
Sewanee is now 5-3 overall and a perfect 2-0 in conference play.
The Tigers scored five goals in the first period, 10 in the second, three in the third, and five in the fourth. The lone score for the Stormy Petrels came as Arness Holsey scored off a pass from Brayden Simpson with 9:27 left in the second.
Individually, Baylor Koch led the attack with four goals, one assist, and six shots. Hobey Jiranek and Rory Devine also added a career-high three goals while George Bukawyn, Peter Rydell, Hal Smith, and Matthew Stiefel scored twice.
Hayden Byrd, Jess Hilb, Conley Street and Willy Feid also scored while Michael Morris finished with five assists.
In goal Selby Austin, Browning Altizer, Sam La Branche, and Ed Haubenreiser combined for eight saves.
Sewanee continues SAA play with a 7:00 p.m. match at Birmingham-Southern March 28.
