Rhodes uses a big second half in 5-1 win over Sewanee

Box Score

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2014) – Despite an early goal by Allegra Massey-Elim, the Sewanee field hockey team dropped a 5-1 match at rival Rhodes, Friday.

Massey-Elim pushed the Tigers in front early, as the freshman tapped in a deflection off a cross.

Unfortunately, the host Lynx answered back in a big way. Rhodes scored five second half unanswered goals.

Despite holding its early lead, Sewanee was outshot 21-6 and allowed Rhodes 19 corners.

Individually, Massey-Elim and Sarah Barry led the attack with two shots each.

Sewanee continues Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play with an 11:00 a.m., match at Hendrix.
