Box Score 2 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Sept. 7, 2013) – The Sewanee volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday during day two action of the Birmingham-Southern Invitational.
After a heartbreaking five-set loss against Millsaps, the Tigers improved their record to 9-1 with a win against Victory.
Overall, Sewanee freshman Diamond Stewart finished with a career-high 15 kills against Millsaps. A match later, the Nashville, Tenn., native also added a team-high 10 kills.
Additionally, Jamie Sue Wilson finished 20 kills on Saturday while sophomore middle blocker Caroline Montgomery added 16 kills and four block assists.
At the setter position, junior Rachel Schuman finished with 37 assists while freshman teammate Walker Buxton added 33.
The Tigers will now return to Juhan Gymnasium for a 7:00 p.m., match against regional-rival Cumberland, Monday.
