Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 7, 2013) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Millsaps completed a three-game sweep of the Sewanee baseball team Sunday at Montgomery Field.
With the score tied 2-2 after six innings of play, the Majors broke the game open with ten runs over the final three innings in route to the 12-2 win.
Senior Jacob Simpson was charged with the loss on the mound for the Tigers. Simpson allowed four earned runs on nine hits in seven full innings of work.
Ben Clune led the eight-hit Tiger attack with three hits in four trips to the plate, while James Snover contributed two hits. Blake Williams, Jack Rogers and Grant Goodson had one hit each. Rogers' hit was a single in the bottom of the sixth inning that drove in both of Sewanee's runs.
Sewanee falls to 6-19 overall and 0-14 in SAA play.
The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday, April 9 when they host Rust College at Montgomery Field. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
