Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (April 12, 2013) – The Sewanee men's lacrosse team opened its final regular season weekend with a strong 13-4 win at Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes Friday afternoon.
With the win the Tigers improved to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in league play.
Sewanee quickly built its lead after Michael Morris, Davis Brown, Drew Lincoln, Pierce Leonard, Ian Gillan, and Reed Daniel all scored in the first half. Those scores gave the Tigers a 7-1 lead at halftime.
After Rhodes netted its second goal to open the third period, Lincoln, Morris, Cotter Brown, Daniel, and Brown pushed the Tigers' advantage to 12-2 to close the period.
In the final frame Sewanee added one final goal, before Rhodes scored twice.
Overall, nine Tigers finished with at least one point while the Tigers outshot the Lynx, 47-11.
Defensively, keeper Tommy Healy finished with four saves behind the Sewanee backline that forced 23 turnovers.
Sewanee will close out the regular season with a noon contest at Hendrix, Sunday.
