Box Score 2 CONWAY, Ark. (March 29, 2013) – A pair of strong pitching performances helped Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Hendrix sweep two games over the Sewanee baseball team Friday at Warrior Field.
In the opener of the doubleheader, Sewanee managed only five hits as Hendrix came away with the 5-0 win.
Allen Thigpen, James Snover, Michael Walker, Jack Rogers ,and Nate Barnett each collected one hit for the Tigers.
Freshman Worth Osgood suffered the loss on the mound for Sewanee. Osgood allowed four earned runs on seven hits in seven full innings of work.
Hendrix hurlers continued to silence the Sewanee bats is game two as the Tigers were held to four hits in a 5-1 Warrior victory.
Senior Jacob Simpson was saddled with the loss in the nightcap. Simpson went six innings, allowing five earned runs on twelve hits.
Snover, Walker, Rogers and Jack Whaley picked up a hit apiece. Whaley drove in Sewanee's lone run in the top of the first inning with a single.
With the doubleheader loss the Tigers fall to 6-16 overall and 0-11 in SAA play.
The Tigers will return to action tomorrow when they face Hendrix in the final game of the three-game conference series. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
