Box Score

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 27, 2013) – An early first-half goal helped Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes to a 1-0 win over the Sewanee women's soccer team, Sunday, at Puett Field.

The Lynx scored the only goal of the match, as Breanna Durbin fired in a direct kick from 20 yards out in the seventh minute.

The Tigers did play hard in their comeback effort, however Rhodes keeper Allison Cowling stood strong with five saves.

Overall, Sewanee edged the Lynx in shots 7-6.

Individually, freshman Shelby Meckstroth and Nikki Johnston finished with two shots each.

Sewanee will look to improve on its fourth place conference standing in its final regular season match of the season at Centre, November 2. That contest is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. (EST) in Danville, Ky.
