Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 18, 2013) – Despite finishing with a match-high 14 shots, the Sewanee women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest against rival Berry Friday night at Puett Field.
Sewanee fired five attempts in the first half and outshot the Vikings 9-3 in the loss.
Berry opened its scoring when Molly Johnson crossed a pass to Kim Fischer, who converted the assist into the right side of the goal.
The Vikings added one final goal when Tessa Piety scored off a free kick in the 89th minute.
Individually, freshman Shelby Meckstroth finished with a match-high eight shots, including three attempts on goal.
Classmate Tasha Saunders added two attempts while Olivia O'Brien, Baker Walls, Allie White, and Ellie Quinn added on shot.
The Tigers will now have a week off before returning to action with a 7:00 p.m. contest October 25 against Hendrix.
