Box Score KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 9, 2013) – After a pair of tough losses last weekend, the Sewanee men's basketball team rebounded with a strong 79-40 win over Johnson University Tuesday evening in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Tigers (6-4) came out on fire. Sewanee hit 74 percent of its attempts from the floor, which led to a 46-15 halftime lead.
In the second half, play did not change much. Sewanee continued to play well outscoring Johnson 33-25 after the break.
Overall, Sewanee hit a season-high 58 percent of its shots while outrebounding Johnson by a 32-14 margin.
Additionally, the Tigers were efficient offensively with a plus two assist-to-turnover ratio and a 5-of-12 effort (41 percent) from outside the three-point line.
Against a tough Tiger defense, Johnson made only 36 percent of its attempts.
Individually, senior Tyler Brown led Sewanee with a 17-point, six-rebound effort on 8-of-9 shooting. Along with Brown, 16 of the Tigers' 18 players finished with points.
Sewanee will now look to keep rolling with 3:00 p.m., (EST) contest at Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Centre College, Saturday.
