Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2012) – The Sewanee football team returns to action with a 1:00 p.m., contest, Saturday against Willamette.
After Sewanee defeated Austin College last Saturday, the Tigers return to Harris Stadium with a 2-2 record.
Overall, Sewanee was led by its stout defense and a strong running attack against the Kangaroos. In the two games Sewanee won, the Tigers have rushed for over 370 yards and produced at least two sacks.
Individually, junior quarterback Curtis Johnson continues to play a vital role. The Atlanta, Ga., native leads the Tigers in both rushing and passing yards. Additionally, Johnson trails only senior slotback Jase Brooks in touchdowns.
Willamette will make its cross-country trip after starting the season 3-0. The Bearcats have one of the top offenses in all of NCAA Division III football.
Currently, Willamette leads the nation in total passing with an average of 407 yards per game. Additionally, the Bearcats have the sixth highest scoring offense among all 240 D-III programs.
