Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Nov. 2, 2012) – A second-half goal by sophomore Zuie Billings lifted the Sewanee field hockey team past Transylvania 1-0, Friday, during the inaugural Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Field Hockey Championships.
After the Tigers fired 16 shots, Billings broke the scoreless tie off an assist by junior Mary Kate McAlister.
Overall, Sewanee dominated the shot count 25-5. Additionally, the Tigers' defense held the Pioneers without a shot on goal.
Along with Billings, Sewanee had strong offensive performances from senior Anne Booke (five shots) and Cameron Herndon (three shots).
Sewanee will now take on host and No. 1 seed Rhodes Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
