Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2012) – A goal by midfielder Ellie Quinn lifted the Sewanee women's soccer team past Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Millsaps, Sunday, at Puett Field.
With the victory, Sewanee evened its record to 6-6 overall. Additionally, the Tigers are now 2-1 in league play.
After the Tigers' offense blasted numerous shots early, Sewanee finally broke through when Quinn scored off a beautiful corner kick from Jamie Samociuk in the 85th minute.
As a team, Sewanee dominated in both shots (21-7) and corner kicks (12-2)
Individually, eight different Tigers finished with at least one shot. Forward Bobbe Chaffin led all players with five attempts, while Samociuk finished with four. Quinn (3), Olivia O'Brien (3), Allie White (2), Izzy Correa (2), Emily Harvey (1), and Caroline Burkholder (1) all had at least one attempt.
After a pair of home contests, Sewanee returns to action with a 2:00 p.m., match Friday, at conference newcomer Berry.
