Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2012) – Behind a strong offensive performance, Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Centre topped the Sewanee field hockey team 3-0 Sunday.
A pair of first-half goals by Erin Mays gave Centre an early 2-0 lead.
In the second half, the Colonels stayed on the attack as Courtney Kuiper netted the final goal.
Overall, Centre led in shots 31-9. The Colonels also had a 14-9 advantage in penalty corners.
Individually, senior forward Anne Booke paced Sewanee with three shots. The only other Tiger to have more than one attempt was fellow senior Mary Kate McAlister with two.
After six straight road matches, the Tigers return home for a noon match Saturday, October 27 against Hendrix. That match is also the team's annual Stick it to Cancer contest.
