Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 20, 2012) – The Sewanee field hockey team earned a 2-1 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) conference win over Transylvania, Saturday, at Hall Field.
With the win, Sewanee improved to 5-7 overall while the Pioneers fell to 1-13.
Sewanee opened the scoring when Tilden Davis scored off an assist by senior Anne Booke.
After Sara Clark tied the score at 1-1, Booke fired in the game-winner from teammate Molly Kennedy in the 49th minute.
Overall, Sewanee led in shots (15-8) and penalty corners (8-6). Individually, Booke led all players with a game-high six shots. Davis and freshman Maggie Boozer also finished with more than one attempt.
The Tigers will take on conference rival Centre College with a noon match, Sunday.
