Women's soccer falls at Rhodes, 2-0

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2012) Two second-half goals lifted Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes past the Sewanee women's soccer team Friday afternoon at the Lynx Soccer Field.

With the loss, Sewanee fell to 7-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

After slow first half, Rhodes quickly broke through in the second as Heidi Press scored off a pass from Betsy Peterson.

Later in the match, the Lynx added an insurance goal as Kelsey Keown finally scored after her previous two attempts were blocked and went off the crossbar.

Sewanee returns to action with a noon match, Sunday, October 21st at Hendrix.
