Late score lifts Ohio Wesleyan over Sewanee, 2-1

DELAWARE, Ohio (Oct. 13, 2012) The Sewanee field hockey team dropped a 2-1 match at Ohio Wesleyan College, Sunday.

Sewanee opened with a goal by freshman Maggie Boozer in the 47th minute. On the play, Boozer tapped in a rebound that went off the leg of Ohio Wesleyan keeper Karson Stevenson.

Unfortunately, the Tiger lead would not last as Venessa Menerey fired in the equalizer from five-yards out.

Later in the half, the Battling Bishops scored again when Montana Knapp snuck the game-winner past Anne Morrow in the 65th minute.

Overall, Ohio Wesleyan led in shots (24-11) while the Tigers and Battling Bishops tied in penalty corners (9-9).  Individually, Booke, Boozer, and Cameron Herndon finished with a team-high two shots.

Sewanee returns to action with its third match against Transylvania Saturday, October 20th.
