Box Score GRANVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 13, 2012) – The Sewanee field hockey team dropped a 3-0 match at Denison College, Saturday, at Piper Stadium.
With the loss, Sewanee fell to 4-6 overall while the Big Red improved to 11-4.
Denison opened the scoring when Catie Merrick followed up an attempt by Taylor Bacon.
The score would remain at 1-0 until the second half. Senior Hilary Zdanoski added to the Denison lead, when she crossed a pass to Bacon, who redirected the ball past Sewanee keeper Anna Morrow.
Later in the half, Courtney Testani added the final goal when she slipped a shot past Morrow in the 65th minute.
Overall, Denison led in shots (20-8) and penalty corners (8-7). Individually, senior Anne Booke and freshman Maggie Boozer finished with a team-high two shots.
After three straight losses, the Tigers will look to earn a victory against Ohio Wesleyan, Sunday. That match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., (EST).
