Volleyball set to host Dig Pink match against Birmingham-Southern, Friday

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2012) – Starting this Friday the Sewanee volleyball team will look to create success both on and off the court, as the Tigers partner with the Side-Out Foundation for a series of Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness matches.

The Tigers will take on Birmingham-Southern with 6:00 p.m. contest Friday, October 12th followed by a 3:00 p.m., match against Millsaps on Saturday, October 13th. Additionally, the Rhodes match, Saturday, October 20th and the Hendrix contest, Sunday, October 21st will be Dig Pink games.

The Side-Out Foundation was established in 2004 to unite volleyball players and coaches toward the common goal of furthering breast cancer awareness, research, education, and patient services.

This fall, thousands of teams from around the country will be participating in the Side-Out Foundation's Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. Dig Pink events give spectators the opportunity to become involved by making donations to the cause and by pinking out the events. There is no admission fee to attend matches held at Juhan Gymnasium. The Tigers will also be selling t-shirts and pink breast cancer awareness ribbons.
