SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 25, 2011)
The Sewanee women's soccer team could not overcome the offensive firepower of the No. 4 Emory as the Eagles soared to a 4-0 win Sunday afternoon at Puett Field.

The Eagles (7-0-1) took advantage of two Sewanee (2-6-1) fouls early in the contest, as midfielder Lauren Gorodetsky and Merrill Bachouros connected on a pair of free kicks, giving Emory a 2-0 advantage at the half.

As the second half action got underway Emory quickly added to its lead as Clare Mullins fired in a penalty kick in the first minute of play.

Emory would go on and add one more late goal giving the Eagles their six straight win.

The Tigers will continue their four-match homestand as Sewanee opens SCAC play with a 5:00 pm contest September 30 against Southwestern.
