Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 30, 2011) – After holding the Sewanee field hockey team to four shots and three penalty corners, SCAC rival Rhodes shutout the Tigers 4-0 Sunday in Memphis, Tennessee.
With the loss Sewanee closed out its regular season with a 5-9 record, including a 1-5 mark in conference play. Rhodes on the other hand earned the top-seed in the league upcoming tournament after posting a 5-1 SCAC record.
Overall, the Lynx had a pair of goals from Katie Faucher and Kat Simpson.
Sewanee will now take the next five days off before returning to action on Saturday as the Tigers face the Lynx again during semifinal action of this season's conference tournament. Second-seeded Hendrix and third-seeded Centre will play the other semifinal match at 11:30 a.m. at Rhodes.
