Box Score

EMORY, Va.
9/10/10 - The Sewanee Tiger volleyball team fell to Emory & Henry College tonight in straight sets, 13-25, 7-25, and 10-25.

Adrienne Borchardt (New Orleans, La., Ben Franklin) stepped into the setter role for the Tigers, providing eight assists and one dig.  Freshman Tarver Shimek (Towson, Md., Towson) paced Sewanee with five kills, and Callie Sims (Asheville, N.C., Carolina Day School) led the team with three digs.  Lydia Day (The Plains, Va., Highland School) provided two aces during the night's match.

“The team worked very hard tonight and unfortunately we came up short," said head coach Jessica Cortese. " The players have been asked to play different positions this week due to injuries and I am very proud of the effort they have displayed learning the new rotations. The goal is to keep growing as a team and get experience playing high level competition, which I think will help the players be successful in the future."

Sewanee will wrap up play tomorrow at Emory & Henry with matches scheduled against Roanoke College (11 am) and Meredith College (1 pm).
