WINCHESTER, Tenn. 4/6/10 – The Sewanee Tigers dropped a non-conference baseball game to Covenant College tonight by the score of 11-1. The game was played at Gamble Sports Complex in Winchester, Tenn.
Sewanee got on the scoreboard quickly in the bottom of the first inning when Michael Joseph (Orlando, Fla., Dr. Phillips) singled home Alan Komorowski (Rochester, N.Y., Aquinas Institute) who had doubled to lead off the inning. That turned out to be the only run of the game for the Tigers as Covenant scored eleven unanswered runs to take the 11-1 victory.
Logan Ray (Estill Springs, Tenn., Franklin County) was charged with the loss on the mound for the Tigers.
The Scots outhit the Tigers 9-7 in the game. Rascoe Dean (Nashville, Tenn., Montgomery Bell Academy) was a perfect 3-for-3 to lead Sewanee at the plate.
The Tigers will return to action this weekend when they travel to Greencastle, Ind. to take on the DePauw Tigers in a three-game SCAC series that begins on Saturday with a doubleheader scheduled.
