GREENCASTLE, Ind. 4/10/10 – The DePauw Tigers defeated Sewanee in both ends of an afternoon SCAC doubleheader today played in Greencastle, Ind. DePauw took the opener 19-1 and the second game by the score of 31-10.
Starting pitcher Greg Bartleski (Charlottesville, Va., Covenant) suffered the loss on the mound for the Tigers in the first game of the doubleheader.
Alan Komorowski (Rochester, N.Y., Aquinas Institute) and Chris Mauro (Washington, D.C., St. Alban's) both posted 2-for-3 games at the plate to lead Sewanee.
In game two, Mauro had four hits, including a pair of homeruns, and drove six runs. Michael Joseph (Orlando, Fla., Dr. Phillips) picked up three hits and three RBI. Joseph also had a homerun. Rascoe Dean (Nashville, Tenn., Montgomery Bell Academy) rapped out three hits.
Wilson Nealy (Nashville, Tenn., Montgomery Bell Academy) was the starting and the losing pitcher for the Tigers.
Sewanee falls to 6-22 overall and 1-10 in SCAC play. The Tigers will wrap up their three game series at DePauw tomorrow with a single game.
