The Rhodes Lynx turned a 1-0 halftime lead into a 4-0 victory over visiting Sewanee in field hockey action this afternoon. Charlie Wagner's penalty stroke goal in the first period was all Rhodes needed, but the Lynx added three second half goals in the effort. Sewanee falls to 4-10 overall and 1-6 in SCAC play.
Libby Feaster added an unassisted goal early in the second half to put the Lynx up 2-0. Libby Jones and Lindsey Gurkovich each added goals on penalty corners in the second period to make the final score 4-0.
Rhodes out shot Sewanee 13 to eight, and led in corners, ten to eight. Goalkeeper Anna Morrow tallied nine saves for the Tigers.
Sewanee heads to Danville, Kentucky next Friday to take on Centre College at 7:00 p.m. The Colonels are 10-3 on the year and 3-3 in SCAC play.
