ATLANTA, Ga. 10/24/10 – The Sewanee Tigers were defeated by conference foes Birmingham Southern College and DePauw University today in SCAC volleyball action in Atlanta. The final score of both matches was 3-0.

Sewanee fell to DePauw in their final match of the day. Set scores were 25-8, 25-11 and 25-16.
Boddiford paced the Tigers with four kills and one ace. Brahm contributed nine assists while Shimek had ten assists and two blocks.
"It's never easy to swallow losing, but stepping back and looking at the bigger picture I can't help but feel encouraged," said Sewanee head coach Jessica Cortese following today's matches. "We posted 30 plus digs in every match this weekend, which is a direct product of the practices over the past few weeks where the focus was on putting ourselves in the correct positions to get more defensive touches on the ball. We are scoring more points on our opponents than in the beginning of the season, so we are closing the gap, but still need to eliminate the unforced errors that are holding us back from winning games."
The Tigers are now 1-30 on the season and 0-14 in SCAC play.
Sewanee will host Rust College on Wednesday evening at 5 pm in Juhan Gymnasium.
