WINTER HAVEN, Fla. 3/21/09 - The Sewanee Tigers wrapped up their Florida spring break trip today with a convincing 12-3 win over Framingham State. The Tigers completed play in the RussMatt Invitational with a 4-3 record.
Junior hurler Greg Bartleski (Charlottesville, Va., Covenant) pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only two hits while striking out eleven Ram batters to pick up the win on the mound.
The Tigers were led at the plate by Joe Reilly who went 3-for-5 in the game. Rascoe Dean (Nashville, Tenn., Montgomery Bell Academy), Taylor Barrett (Murfreesboro, Tenn., Siegel), Franklin Pogue (Nashville, Tenn., Father Ryan), and Taylor Burns (Dallas, Tex., Lake Highlands) all had two hits. Austin Stephenson belted a homerun in the 5th inning.
The Tigers are now 6-11 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday when they host Maryville College at 2 p.m.
