LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Sewanee played men's basketball at Covenant Tuesday night and after trailing by one at the half, fell 57-54 to the host Scots.
Zack Mulligan (Lynchburg, Va., VES) and
Garrett Hollingsworth (Roanoke, Va., North Cross) led Sewanee's scoring with 15 and 14 points. Hollingsworth earned a double-double with a team-leading 11 rebounds, also. Davis Eldridge led Covenant with 14 points. Sewanee was 34% good from the field, while Covenant hit 41% of its field goals. The Scots also led in rebounds 43-36.
Sewanee is now 3-4 and 0-1 in the SCAC. The Tigers will host the Lon Varnell Classic Tournament December 19-20 and will host Rhodes and Birmingham-Southern in SCAC play January 1 and 3.
