Sewanee Women's Soccer Shuts Out Millsaps

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Millsaps played SCAC women's soccer at Sewanee Sunday afternoon and Sewanee earned a 2-0 shutout after leading 1-0 at the half. Senior Allison Davis (Carbondale, Ill., Carbondale) scored the first Sewanee goal 15 minutes into the first half and Virginia Zakas (Atlanta, Ga., Westminster) added some insurance with her unassisted goal in the 55th minute.

Sewanee outshot Millsaps 16-5 and took three corner kicks. Millsaps had five corner kick opportunities. Sewanee goalkeeper Britt Williams (Birmingham, Ala., Altamont) earned her sixth shutout of the year in goal and had four saves. Williams has 33 saves and has only allowed two goals in 743 minutes of play this year. Sarah Nelin had five saves in goal on the day.

Sewanee improves to 6-1-1 and is 2-0-1 in the SCAC. The Tigers will play at Maryville College Friday night before hosting Milligan on Saturday at 5:00 for Homecoming.
