BSC Drops Sewanee in OT

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Sewanee hosted Birmingham-Southern in women's soccer action Friday night and after a scoreless regulation, Birmingham-Southern's Linda Amaya secured the 1-0 OT Panther win with a goal.

Sewanee took 10 shots, while BSC had 14 attempts. Birmingham-Southern committed 19 fouls, compared to 12 for Sewanee. In goal, Sewanee's Britt Williams (Birmingham, Ala., Altamont) had five saves in goal and had 29 this year. She has only allowed two goals in seven matches. Amber Hernandez had four saves in goal for the Panthers.

Sewanee is 5-1-1 and is 1-0-1 in the SCAC. Birmingham-Southern is 5-4 so far in 2009. Sewanee will host Millsaps on Sunday at noon.
