Centre's Late Goal Stops Sewanee Field Hockey

DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre Hosted Sewanee in SCAC field hockey play Sunday and with just four minutes left in the game, Sally Faulkner scored the winner off of a penalty corner for the host Colonels.

The Colonels outshot Sewanee 15-3 and took 13 penalty corners compared to three for the purple Tigers. Emily Detmer (Denver, Colo., Pomfret) was in goal for Sewanee and had nine saves. Patty Cowley had three saves and the win for Centre.

Sewanee is now at .500 with a 5-5 record and is 1-4 in the SCAC. Centre is 8-1 (5-1 SCAC). Sewanee will play at Roanoke, Eastern Mennonite and W&L next weekend for Fall Break.
