GEORGETOWN, Texas – Sewanee played SCAC men's
basketball at Southwestern University Saturday night and fell 72-49
after trailing 32-30 at the half.
Seniors Bradley Pierson (Rome, Ga., Darlington) and
Ben Pursell (Franklin, Tenn., BGA) led the Tiger effort
with 12 points each. Pursell led with nine rebounds. Anthony Cox
led Southwestern with 21 points and eight rebounds. Southwestern
outshot Sewanee, making 43% of its field goals compared to 35% for
Sewanee.
Sewanee is now 4-12 and is 2-6 in the SCAC. The Tigers will play
at Piedmont on Tuesday. Southwestern is 13-5 and is sitting at .500
at 4-4 in the league.
