SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee hosted Centre in DIII men's
basketball action Friday night in Juhan Gym and the visiting
Colonels topped the Tigers 60-39 after leading 37-15 at the half.
Centre, after getting out to a 7-0 lead, held control all game and
got the eventual 21-point win.
Bradley Pierson (Rome, Ga., Darlington) led
Sewanee's scoring effort with a 10-point effort. Pierson is
leading the 08-09 Tigers, averaging nearly 19 ponts per game.
Fellow Sewanee senior Eric Schneider (Winter Park, Fla.,
Trinity Prep) led the Tigers with six rebounds. Danny Noll
and Jeff Mullaney each had 14 points for Centre.
Sewanee is now 2-5 (0-1 SCAC) and will host DePauw on Sunday.
Centre is 4-1 and 1-0.
