Men's tennis sweeps SAA Athlete of the Week honors

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's men's tennis team swept the conference weekly honors after the Tigers went 2-0 in conference play against two ranked opponents in No. 32 Southwestern and No. 13 Trinity.

Max Verellen was 2-0 on the weekend at line four, earning his second SAA Singles Honors. Verellen defeated Parth of Southwestern 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday and followed it up dropping just one game to the No. 30-ranked singles player in the country, Ryan Warren of Trinity, with a 6-0, 6-1 win.

Andre-Remi Jakobi and Samuel Schroerlucke collected SAA Doubles Athlete of the Week honors as they defeated the No. 23-ranked doubles team of Perry and Kersten of Trinity, with a 7-5 tiebreaker to clinch the doubles point for the Tigers as they defeated No. 13-ranked Trinity 4-3 on Sunday afternoon.
