Jack Collins placed second and junior
Eleanor Graham finished third in the 10,000-meters, leading the Sewanee track and field teams Friday on the first day of the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn.
Collins placed second in 32:55.08 in his first attempt at the distance event that includes 25 laps around the track. He was the Top Division III finisher among 12 runners in the event and the time was the fourth-best in school history in the event.
Graham finished third in the event, also her first race at 10K on the track, in 39:49.14, behind two runners from Chattanooga. She was the only Division III runner among seven participants. Her time was also the fourth-best in program history in the 10000.
Senior
Stephen Goetze placed fourth in the javelin with a mark of 158-feet, 7-inches, seventh-best all-time at Sewanee. In the hammer throw, senior
Lukus White posted a mark of 113-7, fourth-best on the all-time list, while senior
Brayden Owens' mark of 107-00 was sixth in the record books.
Sophomore
Arianna Shirak posted a time of 26.31 in the 200-meters, second-best all-time at Sewanee, and junior
Abigail Armstrong registered the ninth-best time in the 800-meters in 2:26.06.
