Verellen/Wrigley earn first SAA Doubles Athlete of the Week honors

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Max Verellen and Lucas Wrigley picked up two doubles victories to earn the first Southern Athletic Association Doubles Athletes of the Week honors of the season, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Competing at line three doubles, Verellen and Wrigley went 2-0 against Division I and II opponents. The duo opened the week with a 6-3 win over Carson-Newman in 29 minutes on Thursday afternoon. They followed that performance on Saturday with a 6-2 victory in just 24 minutes against Gardner-Webb.

Sewanee will host Covenant and East Texas Baptist this weekend before traveling to Virginia to take on Mary Washington and Christopher Newport next week.
