Men's Swim and Dive tops Asbury, 148-56

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's men's swim and dive team defeated Asbury in a dual meet on Friday night in the Fowler Natatorium, 148-56.

Sewanee opened with a win in the 200 medley relay as Tyler Foster, Naeem Mangum, Eric Jurkovic, and Josh Kim stopped the clock in 1:39.90. The Tigers closed the meet by edging Asbury in the 200 free relay; Kim, Henry Lindeman, Carter Nabors, and Andrew Olsen posted 1:27.08 to win by 0.29 seconds.

Sewanee went 1-4 in the 50 free with Nabors (22.23), Kim (22.54), Jurkovic (22.90), and Mangum (23.54). Ryder Griffin and Jurkovic then went 1-2 in the 100 free at 50.37 and 51.26, respectively. Olsen claimed the 100 back in 53.06, while the Tigers swept the 100 breast with Mangum (1:00.92), Mason Horner (1:05.32), Jon Brettschneider (1:06.60), and Winston McKenzie (1:09.19). Sewanee also stacked the 200 IM podium, led by Brettschneider (2:06.11), Horner (2:10.88), and Connor Young (2:13.84). In the 500 free, Tyler Foster took home first, swimming a 5:05.89.

On the boards, Jonah Kearns collected two first-place finishes, with a 234.23 on the 3-meter and a 240.68 on the 1-meter. Korbin Smith finished as runner-up on both boards.
Sewanee returns to the pool tomorrow morning for a double dual meet against Asbury and Montevello with an 11 a.m. start.
