SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee women's cross country was picked sixth in the Southern Athletic Association Preseason Coaches' Poll released Tuesday by the league office.
The Tigers placed fourth in last year's SAA Championships. Junior
Abigail Armstrong finished 22
nd in the conference meet while sophomore
Elizabeth Cook (26
th), senior
Sam Ude (28
th) and senior
Allison Haworth (29
th) paced five runners in the Top 30. Junior
Eleanor Graham was 31

th.
Trinity University was selected first in the coaches' poll with four first-place votes and 52 total points. Centre College picked up two first-place votes and 50 points for second place while Berry College also received two first-place votes and 48 points for third. Rhodes College and Southwestern University tied for fourth with 34 points, followed by Sewanee with 25, Oglethorpe University with 23 and Millsaps College with 14.
Sewanee opens the cross country season this Saturday in Chattanooga, Tenn., running at the Arboretum Nature Center in a meet hosted by Covenant College.
