Six earn At-Large Academic All-District Honors

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Six Tigers were honored on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic Women's All-District At-Large teams, as announced on Tuesday. Four student-athletes from the women's lacrosse team and two from the women's golf team were honored.

Brooke Sigmon, Winnie Pajcic, Sally Herrington, and Ella Townsend, on the women's lacrosse team, and Sabrina Nesbitt and Payton Burch on the women's golf team were honored.

Sigmon, Pajcic, and Townsend earned SAA First-Team All-Conference honors, while Herrington and Nesbitt were named Second-Team All-Conference. Burch finished in 11th place at the SAA Women's Golf Championships.

Herrington, Sigmon, and Pajcic were selected to advance to the All-America ballot as chosen, along with a select group of student-athletes, by the CSC All-America committee.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a minimum 3.50 grade-point average. Each sport included in the at-large category contained separate performance and participation-based requirements to be met by all nominees.

To be eligible for women's lacrosse, nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For women's golf, nominees must be in the lineup for 70 percent of the institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship tournament.

Each school with a CSC membership may submit up to six Academic All-District nominations for the At-Large Program.
