Carpenter garners two ITA Regional Honors

SEWANEE, Tenn. — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its regional awards on Monday afternoon, as Ansley Carpenter garnered two awards in the Atlantic South region. 

Carpenter was named ITA Most Improved Player and the Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship recipient. 

In her senior year, Carpenter is 24-4 in doubles and 11-9 in singles. The Newnan, Ga. native was also named the Southern Athletic Association Tennis Player of the Year, and earned First-Team All-Conference honors in doubles and singles. 

Carpenter earned her first NCAA individual appearance with doubles partner Brooke Despriet, where the duo will compete in the individual doubles draw in Claremont, Calif., with the first round set for May 24 at Biszantz Family Tennis Center. 

The ITA national award winners will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20th.
