Women's tennis sweeps last SAA Athlete of the Week honors

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's women's tennis team swept the last SAA Athlete of the week honors as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. 

Harper High picked up singles Athlete of the Week honors as the sophomore dropped just five games over the weekend. She went 2-0 at No. 2 singles, including wins over No. 25-ranked Mary Washington, as Sewanee wrapped up the regular season with two home wins. Against Mary Washington, High dominated en route to a 6-1, 6-2 win in under an hour, quickly tying the match at one point all, and giving Sewanee the early equalizer in singles play, leading to a 5-2 win. On Saturday, she added a 6-2, 6-0 win against Piedmont. 

Lucy Lee and Emma Foster earned doubles honors as they were also 2-0 on the weekend. The duo worked No. 25-ranked Mary Washington's line two doubles, dropping two games for a 6-2 win. On Saturday, they defeated Piedmont's Harriet Sloyan and Olivia Carpenter, 7-5, securing the doubles sweep for the Tigers. 

Sewanee will start post-season play on Saturday at the SAA Championships, where they will face the winner of the No. 3/No. 4 matchup.
