Men's tennis tops Scots on the road

Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee men's tennis team headed to Lookout Mountain, Ga. to face Covenant on Friday night, collecting a 6-1 win.

The Tigers swept the doubles point as Drew Rukavina and Max Verellen didn't drop a game at three doubles, while Jordan Theron and Quinn Wicklund won at one 6-3, and Andre-Remi Jakobi and Gil Weston also picked up a 6-3 win to two. 

Weston picked up the first singles win with a 6-4, 6-3 decision at three, followed by a 6-3, 6-2 win at one from Theron. George Thomas Alexander clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at six, before Liam Selvido and Charlie Pizzuti added points for the Tigers at four and five. Selvido collected a 6-3, 6-0 win at four while Pizzuti won 6-2, 6-3 at five. Covenant collected their lone point at two as Jakobi fell 6-4, 6-4.

Sewanee will open conference play on March 29 against Rhodes at 9 a.m. and will play Piedmont at 1 p.m.
