SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee women's lacrosse closed out their spring break trip by extending their unbeaten streak to 8-0 taking down Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., 17-1.

Sewanee's offense exploded early, netting seven goals in the first quarter alone. Brooke Sigmon opened the scoring, assisted by Marlin Price, who contributed three assists throughout the match. Sally Whitehead, Alex Kelly, Finley Connors, Morgan Boylan, Elizabeth Muller, Sigmon, and Price each scored twice, adding to the team's offensive depth. While Molly Starkey, Ella Townsend, and Pearse Connell each added a goal. Marlin Price added two goals and three assists, leading the team with five points.

Defensively, Sewanee allowed only four total shots and conceded just one goal, off an unassisted goal from Michaela Chen in the first quarter. Claire Dillard led Sewanee with three caused turnovers and two ground balls followed by two caused turnovers each from Izzo Palmer, Winnie Pajcic, and Molly Starkey.

Sewanee successfully cleared the ball every possession and controlled the draw circle, winning 13 draw controls to Puget Sound's nine. Kelly led the Tigers in draw-control wins with a game-high five, while Whitehead, Dillard, and Sophia Bean added two a piece.

Sewanee heads home to face Mount Union on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Puett Field.
