Women's lacrosse stretches win streak to seven at Willamette

SEWANEE, Tenn. –  The Sewanee women's lacrosse team continued their undefeated streak, securing a commanding 15-5 victory over Willamette on the road.

Alex Kelly led the charge with seven draw controls, two goals, and an assist, while Marlin Price added four points with three goals and an assist on four shots. Sally Herrington and Morgan Boylan each contributed two goals, with Boylan adding two assists. Herrington filled the stat sheet with four draw controls, two caused turnovers, and three ground balls.

Defensively, the Tigers were relentless, with three players — Herrington, Claire Dillard, and Jessie Salisbury — forcing two turnovers each. Salisbury also scooped up two ground balls, while Winnie Pajcic led the team with four ground balls, adding a draw control and a caused turnover.

Kennedy Harcourt opened the scoring off a ground ball pickup from Pajcic and an assist from Boylan. Kelly followed with a goal to extend the lead before Willamette answered back. However, Sewanee responded with five consecutive goals, building a 7-1 advantage.

Finley Connors kicked off the second quarter with a goal assisted by Alexa Berg, followed by two consecutive man-up goals from Herrington. After a Bearcats goal, the Tigers closed the half with two more goals, holding a comfortable lead.

The third quarter saw limited scoring, with Willamette netting an early goal off a draw control win. Price answered with her 18th goal of the season, restoring the 10-goal cushion.

In the final frame, each team scored twice, with Caroline Stutz and Molly Starkey finding the net for the Tigers.
With the win, Sewanee improves to 7-0 — their best start since 2015, when the team went undefeated in the regular season at 17-0.

Sewanee travels to Tacoma, Wash. to face Puget Sound on Thursday at 6 PM CT/5 PM PT.
