Lammert ranked 47th nationally in singles

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its fall regional and national rankings this week, with Sewanee's men's and women's tennis programs placing four student-athletes on the lists.

On the men's side, sophomore Ben Lammert earned the first national ranking of his career, coming in at No. 47 in singles and No. 12 in the Atlantic South Region. Lammert reached the quarterfinals at the ITA Regional Championships, where he fell to Emory's Ruilin Feng in a second-set tiebreaker. Feng went on to win both the ITA Regionals and the ITA Cup, earning the No. 1 national singles ranking.

Freshmen Sam Schroerlucke and Lucas Wrigley also appeared in the regional rankings, debuting at No. 8 in doubles. The pair advanced to the semifinals at Regionals before being edged by Emory's Daniel Kim and John Lasanajak, 8-6.

On the women's side, sophomore Harper High secured a No. 16 regional singles ranking after a strong showing at the ITA Regionals, highlighted by a quarterfinal appearance. She ultimately fell to Emory's Emily Kantrovitz in a second-set tiebreaker.

Sewanee's men's team will open the spring season at home on Feb. 5 in an exhibition match against Carson-Newman. The women will begin their spring slate with an early conference match at Centre on Feb. 15 in Danville, Ky.
